Operation Lifesaver Associate

Associates do not give public presentations, but they help state programs with countless day-to-day activities and special events. Please register for a presenter/associate training class by clicking here, or contact your State Coordinator about becoming a trained and certified Operation Lifesaver associate.

Associate Certification at a Glance:

  • Complete the Presenter’s Training Course and receive an acceptable rating from the trainer and obtain a passing score on the post-course test. Associates do not need to give a 10-minute condensed Operation Lifesaver presentation (as would a presenter trainee).
  • Associates must fully understand and agree to abide by all general policies and procedures of OLI as stated in the Volunteer Application.
  • Each associate is expected to help the State Coordinator in one of the following areas at least once a year:
  • Help as an event assistant at a fair, conference, booth, etc.
  • Write a newsletter or article for your area or state.
  • Help run a presenter orientation session.
  • Gather donated items for give-a-ways/raffles at Operation Lifesaver events.
  • Assist in scheduling presentations.
  • Help plan or assist with an event.
  • Work as a clerical assistant to the State Coordinator.
  • Inventory OL materials.
  • Help with fundraising or grant writing.
  • Assist the State Coordinator in another significant way.

If an associate decides to be certified as a presenter in order to give presentations, they must attend another Presenter’s Training Course and successfully complete the speaker training requirements.
